Rates
Easypay
What is Rates Easypay?
It's the easy way to pay your rates bill. You can choose the
frequency of your payment; weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly
or annually.
What are the Benefits?
- No standing in queues
- No forgetting to pay
- No cheques or postage
- No large cash payments
How does it work?
When you join the Rates Easypay system you will receive a letter
confirming your bank account details, commencement date and
frequency of your payments. On payment days, the money you owe will
be automatically paid out of your bank account.
You will keep full control over your method of payment and can
cancel your Rates Easypay arrangement at any time.
If there are any changes to your rates, they will be adjusted
automatically - you do not have to visit the bank to make a
change.
If you sell your property and purchase a new one please make
contact with the Council to arrange the transfer of the Rates
Easypay authority.
How do I join?
Download the Rates Easypay application form or collect one
from the Council's office or phone or email the Council to have one
posted to you.
Fill in the form (you will need to know your Bank account
number) and either send it back to Palmerston North City Council,
Private Bag 11034, Palmerston North or hand it in at the Council's
office. Please do not send it directly to your bank.
If you have any questions, please phone 356 8199 or email the
Council.
Internet or
Telephone Banking
You can use Internet or Telephone banking to pay your rates. To
make arrangements for either of these options:
- Identify "Palmerston North City Council" as the creditor
- Specify your rates assessment number
Palmerston North City Council should already be set up as a bill
payee with your bank. You should not need to quote our bank account
number, just quote "Palmerston North City Council". When prompted
to add a reference/account number please show your rates
assessment number. This number can be found on your rates
assessment or rates invoice, for example 1403020600 (spaces are not
required).
The council's bank account number is: 030726-0330770-00
If you sell your property and purchase another you will need to
change the reference used to that of your new property.
