I hold the position of General Manager Customer Serviceswhich
sees me lead a Unit responsible for the delivery of Regulatory and
Customer Services on behalf of Council (Building, Planning, Bylaws,
Liquor Licensing, Animal Control, Parking Enforcement,
Environmental Health, and Customer Services).
The key focus of the unit is to ensure the requirements of key
legislation such as the Building Act, Resource Management Act, Dog
Control Act, Health Act and most Bylaws are complied with and
to ensure that effective Call Centre and Customer Services are
provided.
I have been with Palmerston North City Council for 7 years
having come from a large local authority in Auckland. I have
gained an appreciation of the significant benefits that Palmy has
to offer, compared to major metropolitan cities. In
particular its centrally placed location close to a wide range of
tourist, sporting and outdoor facilities.
It is a city that has a wide variety of unique facilities such
as the Esplanade, The Square, and The Library, which are some of
the best in the country. I sometimes believe that some
members of the community do not understand how much Palmerston
North has to offer. Often it is not until you "leave home"
that you realise what you have.
Others describe my management style as inclusive, honest and
